Congratulations to the forty-nine exceptional interns who completed our 2024 Jasco Philanthropies Summer Internship Program! Our Summer program spanned six enriching weeks from July 15th to August 23rd. During this time, we had the honor of educating and empowering a diverse group of interns in launching and running an investment management company. We also encouraged interns to open a brokerage account. Out of 49 interns, 73% of our interns created a brokerage account, and we funded each account with $25 to help begin their investment journey. This hands-on experience provided practical financial literacy that went beyond classroom learning.
Diversity

Out of our 49 interns, 46.9% were women, comparing the numbers to last summer, we achieved a 13% increase which can help further female representation in the finance industry. #Breakthebias!

Our Summer program was not only diverse in ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation but also in college representation! Our interns represented schools in New York City, Las Vegas, North Carolina, and even the United Kingdom!

About Our Program
Each Spring and Summer we select a small group of qualified college students for our Jasco Philanthropies Internship Programs. We encourage individuals from underrepresented backgrounds including, people of color, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community to apply. It is our goal to address the disparities that these communities continue to experience.
We educate and train Black and Brown students and young adults on how to create and run an investment management company. We train them in the areas of public securities trading, venture capital, film finance and production, and philanthropy. Interns will also have leadership opportunities while working closely with James Cole Jr., the founder of Jasco Philanthropies, and other Jasco Philanthropies staff. As an organization, our commitment is to provide opportunities for individuals from underserved communities to gain valuable professional experience and broaden their skills.
